If life were a television series 12 year old Tamir Rice, who was recently murdered by a cop in Cleveland, Ohio, would be alive today. Anyone who saw the video would notice that it took the cop two seconds after he arrived to open the car door and shoot Rice. As a matter of fact I am sure that was not enough time for said cop to even say “raise your hands”. Now compare this to the video of the stand-off that took over 3 hours between several cops and a white adult gunman who was pointing a loaded rifle at civilians and the cops. Of course since the gunman was white he HAD to be mentally unstable. With several cops on the scene the gunman did not die in a hale of bullets like unarmed Amado Diallo in front of a New York apartment building. Instead he was shot once and is still alive. Already we are seeing the mind games that the media play when African Americans are killed. The question they are asking is if the 911 operator relayed the caller’s message to the cops that the perpetrator was a child and that gun maybe a fake. When the real question should be why was this not conveyed to the cops. The speed with which Tamir Rice was killed will not allow us to ever know that when he saw the cops, and before any words were exchanged, Tamir was reaching for the air pistol to drop it on the ground.
The following is how the African America woman and creator of such hit television shows like “Scandal” and “Grey’s Anatomy” etc. would have written the above event.
SCENE ONE: 911 operator to cops, ” I just received a call that an AA male child is brandishing a gun in the park. The gun may be a fake.” (Emphasis placed on the word “child” since studies show that whites perceive black kids to be 4.59 years than they actually are. Thereby not allowing them the same innocence that they do with white kids,
SCENE TWO: The cops arrived at the scene and stay in the car in order to protect themselves from any possible gunfire, First cop, ” Freeze! Any sudden move and I will kill you. Do you understand? I do not care if the gun is fake or not I will shoot you. Now very slowly take you left hand, using your thumb and index finger, reach for the gun … slowly… and place it on the ground. Now lie face down and put you hand behind you back.”
As the two cops exit the car the second cop says to the first, Why din’t you just blow the little motherf…er away? You must be looking at too many cop shows on tv.”
Moral of this story: Another possible Obama wanabe is given a chance to bloom. Real story: To prevent another Obama wanabe from blooming.
